Cowlitz Ledge is on a high bank above the river.  It is screened by trees on the backside and is very private.  It has a mixture of grass and dirt, with the option for full shade or full sun.
There is a steep trail leading down to some private river space when the water is low.  The Big Beach or The Fort Beach are a short walk away. In the early season, when the river is still running higher, the only beach available is Big Beach, which is very close.
